The aim of the internship: is to support ANPPCAN Regional Office, in both its internal and external communication on the impact of these programmes, within the office while streamlining information flow to the broader population of ANPPCAN’s areas of intervention.
The Mission of ANPPCAN is to enhance in partnership with others, the prevention and protection of children from all forms of maltreatment, thus ensuring that the rights of children are realized. ANPPCAN has observer status with the African Union since 1990 and similar status with the African Commission on Human and Peoples Rights. Currently ANPPCAN has Chapter Offices in 26 African countries (http://www.anppcan.org/contact/). ANPPCAN’s 26 Chapter Offices respond to the specific needs of children in their countries by developing appropriate programme interventions. The Regional Office implements national and regional interventions on children that include direct programme intervention, advocacy on specific issues as well as networking and partnership building on issues affecting children in Africa. ANPPCAN Regional Office has done wide research and studies in the area of child rights, which inform and shape programming for children services in Kenya and other parts of the world.
